This piece was commissioned by Alistair Sawdays, a Bristol based publisher. it was printed in conjunction with the book , 'Bristol, A guide to Good Living'... lovely book which helps the reader find all the most interesting, ethical and Green places to shop, Eat and play. It was first drawn by hand, then outlined in Ink and finally digitally finished. The original drawing was A1 and proved tricky to do.... Lots of researching old and new maps, a great project! 

What is a Giclee Print?

Basically, 'Giclee' comes from the french word ... to spray. This  spraying of the ink is carried out by a trained professional printer, who uses a  sophisticated printer to make the reproduction . Unlike a normal printer, a Giclee Print is made using ink which is sprayed and injected into the paper. This creates a long lasting and high definition print, which has been guaranteed not to fade for at least 100 years!, so sunlight shouldn't affect the print.
